In response to feedback, the Queenstown Park Station open day for recreational mountain bike riding has a number of route options this year, indicated on the map (below > scroll down).
The ‘Station to Chard Farm’ ride starts at Boyd Road and ends at Chard Farm. Riders can divert to the picnic beach at either the 9km mark and rejoin the trail later. Terrain for this ride is varied, and includes undulating farm track with some hills, a stream crossing and the possibility of a few sandy spots. To ensure all riders safely leave the Station, we will have marshals and a sign out desk at Chard Farm, you must take the time to stop and give your registration number. We recommend you bring plenty of water, snacks and sun protection for an enjoyable ride.
When you register, we’ll ask you for an indication of which ride you think you’d like to do. This is purely for indicative purposes only and you’re most welcome to change your mind on the day as your ride gets underway.
If you would like a longer option, try the 'Station Loop' which is 18km.
'Station to Chard Farm Ride and return to Boyd Rd’ ride – For the very fit who would like a bigger challenge are welcome to ride to Chard Farm and return to Boyd Rd (27km)
